12 Years A Slave - Movie Review

10:00

12 Years A Slave is based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a freeman who was wrongly kidnapped and sold into slavery.

I've been wanting to see this film for a few weeks now and am so glad I did. This film is moving, wonderfully acted and beautifully directed. It is completely deserving of all it's nominations and has some brutal scenes, all of which makes you want the best for these people and the worst for their terrible owners.

I don't want to give spoilers, and there are three or four scenes which were moving (to the point of tears) but the main scene is a whipping scene which completely shows how superbly acted it is. Michael Fassbender plays Epps, who is the slave owner and a terrible, terrible man. Plus, for an acting debut by Lupita Nyong'o she was amazing and showed so much emotion. Chiwetel Ejiofor was also brilliant throughout and really everyone was just brilliant.

I would highly recommend everyone see this film. I hope you will be as moved as I was and will really enjoy it, as it was a really well put together film and I really enjoyed it.
