Dallas Buyers Club - Movie Review

Dallas Buyers Club is a film about Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) and set in Dallas, Texas. Ron finds out he is HIV Positive after being admitted to hospital for a work injury. He is told he has 30 days to live, and the homophobic anger soon turns into realisation that he is going to die very soon. He travels to Mexico to try to get drugs to help, and that leads him on a business adventure to get FDA unapproved medicine to those who need it.

I really, really enjoyed this film. I didn't know much about it at all apart from one trailer I watched and the fact that Matthew and Jared Leto won Golden Globe's for their roles and I can now completely see why. This film is subtly comical where it needs to be, sad at moments and overall just great. It's a very actor driven film and both Matthew and Jared make it completely.

I would highly recommend seeing this film. It's nominated for quite a few oscars including Best Picture and although I think 12 years a slave will win, this film makes it a very close call. (I have an upcoming post about the oscar's and my predications so keep checking back)

Please go and see this film. I hope you will be as amazed as I was and it is really fantastic. Plus, Jared Leto has some fabulous eye make up throughout.

Have you seen this film yet? What are your thoughts?
