Oscars 2014 - Best Dressed

10:00

So the oscars are over, and honestly I'm very happy with the winners. However, I was so excited for the dresses but was left a little underwhelmed. I honestly think the Vanity Fair party had better dresses than on the Oscar's red carpet, however there were some definite best dressed and heres mine, starting at number 8:

8. Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent
This picture is because the back of the dress is why I like it so much. Yes, it's a simple black dress but I love the bow, and it's not so much the dress I love so much but the whole ensemble. I love her new brunette look, and she looked so vampy and dark compared to everyone else who went for much lighter colours. If you are going to show off your new hair, you might aswell make the whole outfit complete it!

7. Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen
I adore this colour and this dress is a thousand times better than her look at the golden globes. Her hair is very trade mark Sandra however I love the detailing on the dress and the colour is gorgeous.

6. Emma Watson in Vera Wang
So, I don't like this as much as I liked her golden globes outfit however I love the mermaid look of the bottom half of the dress, and the two tone colours compliment each other and look really nice. I also really like her make up look and she looks very elegant.

5. Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive
I think everyone knew Cate was going to win the Oscar this year, as she had snapped up every other best actress award. I really love this dress as the shape is very simple however the detailing on the dress is gorgeous and very unique. I also really love her earrings.

4. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior
Last year's look from Jennifer was my favourite. It was so beautiful and princess like, and now this year she looks so gorgeous. The dress is nothing we haven't seen before, however unlike Amy Adams' version of this dress, the colour stands out and makes everyone turn heads to see her. Not a huge fan of the whole backwards necklace thing, however she looks stunning.

3. Kate Hudson in Versace
I adore this dress. The top half is gorgeous, I love the cape style back and the train is definitely not too long that it ruins it. She's styled it perfectly with the clutch and keeping her hair out of the way. This is definitely one of my favourite looks and she looks stunning.

2. Lady Gaga in Versace
Clearly Versace are nailing it at the Oscar's, but I love this dress so much. The detailing is gorgeous, it suits her figure so much and the white scarf detailing is gorgeous, as a necklace might have ruined the detailing on the dress. Along with her hair, she has this look complete.

1. Lupita Nyong'o in Prada
I think this is what everyone was waiting for. Lupita looks so fabulous, and she definitely owned the night by winning for her first role, and wafting the dress around like a princess on the red carpet. The colour is stunning and she has just completely owned awards season.

What was your favourite look of the night?

  4. I totally agree with you, I expected so much from the oscars and was a little disappointed. Almost none of the dresses really impressed me that much! My favorites were Lupita and Cate Blanchett (so happy she won btw)! I do have to add that even though I don't hate Jennifer Lawrence's dress, it was a little boring! She's young and so funny I would love to see her in dresses that suit her personality. I think Dior is a bit too classic..
