Inherent Vice Movie Review | FILM

Inherent Vice is the drama-comedy from director Paul Thomas Anderson. It tells the story of Doc, a private investigator in the 70's, and his old flame who returns back into his life with a new case that sparks up a lot of questions.
I know that doesn't really give away a lot of the story, but honestly I didn't really have a clue what was going on. It was a very mish mash storyline, that started off relatively simple but as more characters got involved I just got more confused and in the end gave up trying to follow the story.
I thought Joaquin Phoenix and the rest of the cast were really good and all played their roles well, there was definitely chemistry between the cast. However I just didn't really get the storyline. Plus, the genre wasn't too many laughs to be a comedy but wasn't dramatic enough to be a drama.
I'd say go and see this film if you enjoy Joaquin Phoenix or are a fan of detective movies, but if you aren't, you probably can give this one a miss.
